Break Dancing with     Fit Kids Fit Teens

The dance group Fit Kids Fit Teens came into the school and taught each class break dancing. The children loved the different moves and keeping up with the beat of the music.

Gymnastics with Sport in Schools

 

 Each week, Mark and Andy come into the school with gymnastics equipment to do gymnastics. The children thoroughly enjoy it and learn new gymnastic skills each week.

Wendy Playball
Wendy Playball has been coming into the school since 2017 for Summer camps and the past few years as part of our school PE programme for the junior to 2nd class children.
Playball also run parties in the school most weekends. 
Playball is a multi-sport and movement programme developed, and constantly updated to ensure its relevance in today’s world, by sport scientists, child psychologists and occupational therapists. 
Playball not only teaches sport skills but also life skills such as persistence, self confidence, concentration, turn taking, sequencing and many more.
Playball classes are small and age specific to ensure optimal learning and maximum activity levels for the duration of the classes.
Playball aims to instill a love of sport and movement in children that will hopefully last a lifetime.  Classes are positive, uplifting and non competitive.

Cricket

Mitchel Thompson  has been coming in to St. Andew’s to teach the children how to play cricket. This initiative was brought to the school by Cricket Leinster and Active South Dublin.

Esker Celtic Football Club

John Donohue, a familiar face at our school, is an invaluable asset to our football program. Regularly gracing the pitch, he dedicates his time to honing the children’s football skills. From foundational drills to advanced techniques, John patiently guides aspiring young players, instilling a love for the game. Beyond skill development, he provides unwavering support to the school football team, attending matches, offering strategic advice, and boosting morale. His passion is infectious, inspiring students to push their limits and fostering a strong sense of teamwork. John’s commitment extends beyond coaching; he’s a true mentor, shaping not just footballers, but well-rounded individuals.

Westmanstown Gaels

Shane O’Grady, from Westmanstown Gaels, is a fantastic presence at our school, dedicated to teaching Gaelic Football. He regularly visits to share his expertise, patiently guiding the children through the fundamentals of the sport. From kicking and soloing to hand-passing and teamwork, Shane instills essential skills and a love for Gaelic Games. His passion and commitment are clear in every session, inspiring our students to develop their abilities and embrace the spirit of the game. Shane’s support is invaluable, fostering both individual talent and a strong sense of community within our school’s Gaelic football endeavours.

Funding from Active South Dublin – May 2025

A huge thank you to Active South Dublin, the school received €400 through the 2025 Sports Grant. This money will go a huge way towards purchasing equipment for the school.
