First Aid with 6th Class – February 2025
6th class pupils recently took part in a
“Hands for Life” course delivered by The
National First Responders Network.
The course covered:
Recognising an emergency.
CPR.
Use of an AED.
Difference between a heart attack and
cardiac arrest.
Recognising a Stroke.
Relief of choking.
Teaching 6th class pupils first aid helps
them to evaluate risk. It also empowers
them with life skills to help themselves
or their friends, if faced with a medical
emergency.
Special Thanks to Laura O’ Gara (PTA) for setting this up for our
pupils.
St. Andrew’s National School Active Walkway
– May 2025
Introducing St. Andrew’s National School Active Walkway – helping to support sport and fitness within the school.
On different occasions, teachers may take their class outside for a walk along the walkway and complete accompanying activities.
Student Clubs Survey
This questionnaire was created to find out what sports clubs and activities the children in our school are in outside of school hours. A club is when a group of people come together to practice the sport in an organised way with coaches and leaders.
