We had a super day last Friday 26th May at the Rory Cunningham Cup tournament hosted by Weston Hockey Club.

The girls did amazing and each and every one of them played so well.

We played our first match Vs Scoil Áine and won 4-0. Goals scored by Abbie Birnie and Merize Jonker.

Our second match was against Scoil Mhuire Girls school. It was a very even match but Scoil Mhuire managed a goal in the last few minutes of the game.

We then went on to play Mount Sackville 2s and scored early with lovely sweep shot goal by Merize Jonker. Abbie Birne gave a pass into Isabelle Reast at the goal mouth and she pushed it passed the goalie to score the 2nd goal.

We then got through to the Semi-final and played Mount Sackville 1s. At full time the score was 0-0 and we were faced with penalty shots from the half way line. 5 of our brave girls stepped up to take shots but it went down to the wire and we lost on the penalty shots.

This Mount Sackville team went on to win the Cunningham Cup so we are all very proud how well the girls did against the overall winners.

The girls did very well 👏 in this very competitive tournament and should be  proud of themselves.

Well done to all involved!
